Originally founded as the Encore Quartet by graduates of the prestigious Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Encore Strings is a collective of the best and brightest performers, composers and musicologists in Australia - exceptional young musicians on the cusp of prestigious solo, orchestral or chamber-music careers.
Encore brings together Australia's finest string instrumentalists for any event or special occasion. Our performers are scholarship and award-winning graduates of institutes including the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and many of our musicians perform both nationally and internationally with leading orchestras and at music festivals across Asia and Europe. Our musicians are prolific across the music industry as performers, teachers and composers with the finest orchestras in Australia.
String Ensembles
The following ensembles are our more commonly used selections:
STRING DUOS, TRIOS & QUARTETS
String ensembles offer an elegant touch to any event, and are available in duos (2), trios (3) and quartets (4). Of these options, quartets offer the richest harmonies and most balanced sound, and are by far our most popular option.
STRING OCTET
Encore's unique String Octet is a large ensemble of four violins, two violas and two cellos lead by a conductor, and offers an immersive and impressive sound for larger events (usually 200+ in attendance) or recordings.
STRINGS + ACCOMPANIST
A String ensemble accompanied by a harp or a piano offers a distinct and elegant sound for intimate events. Our ensembles also work closely with singers, woodwind, brass and percussion soloists and ensembles to create a unique sound for any event or recording.
ENCORE STRING ORCHESTRA
The Sydney-based Encore String Orchestra is available specifically for
film or CD recordings, TV productions, corporate events, product launches, special events, commercials, or any other event or occasion.
The O-vation Group can also provide ensembles up to and including Symphony Orchestras where needed.
